My family and I were lucky enough to get to go to Ireland a couple of years ago. When we were there we went to a restaurant that served garlic flavored popcorn as an appetizer. I loved it! When I returned home I decided I would try it.
Now I realize that this idea is so simple, it really doesn’t need a recipe, but sometimes we just don’t think of something until someone else tells us about it. So if you like garlic, give this a try.
First pop up a bowl of popcorn.
Then you can do this 1 of 2 ways:
Melt 2 to 3 Tablespoons of Butter in a tiny skillet and add about 1/4 teaspoon of minced garlic (or to taste) and some salt (also to taste). Stir and let the flavors meld together and then pour over the popcorn. You can pour through a strainer if you don’t want pieces of garlic in your corn.
Or the lazy man’s way (which is the way I usually do it anymore), is to put 2 to 3 Tablespoons of butter in a microwave safe bowl and sprinkle in a little garlic powder and salt. I don’t even measure it, just a few shakes, or however much you think you will like, and pour this over your warm popcorn.
